Apple Issues iPhone Survey

You’ve told me what you think of the iPhone. Now you can tell Apple.

In an email today, the company asks iPhone owners to “tell us how you like your new iPhone.”

If things are bugging you about your iPhone, go tell Apple about them now in the iPhone survey. If you’re not subscribed to the iPhone mailing list, try logging into the Apple Surveys page.

This is a good opportunity to voice your opinion on iPhone’s battery replacement plan.

  2. With regards to the battery issue, you do understand that the battery “might” drop to 80% of capacity after 400 “charge cycles”. And that a charge cycle is essentially running it all the way from 100% to 0%; not just plugging it in after using for a couple of hours.

Another thing to understand is that this is the forecast worse case scenario. A proactive attempt to stop frivolous lawsuits because batteries do degrade over time.

Left to their own devices, it’ll take most people 3 to 5 years to hit the 400 charge cycle number *and* even then most won’t experience the drop to 80% of capacity *and* even then most won’t notice the drop because it’ll have happened gradually over 3 to 5 years.

So taking your phone back now because you won’t have one in 3 to 5 years (and you’re not willing to pay $29 to use a substitute one for 3 days) seems, well, kind of silly.

PS: I’d guess that there’s a good chance that by the time this becomes an issue, Apple will have loaner phones for free — ’cause once you use the then current generation for 3 days, you might not be so willing to give it up.

  3. I may return the Iphone because of the battery issue. Cost of battery I can deal with , but 3days without a phone and a $29.00 rental is absurrb!!
    Will they change this?

Will there be apple software to customise ring tones?
Software to to make it voice activated?

If you have answers, please respond.

    4. Can’t delete a single missed call it’s all or nothing.
    5. Keyboard is not that good.
    6. If you have long nails you may have problems dealing with touch screen.
    7. Fear that lack of Java support is going to hinder development possibilities.
    8. Can’t use music you’ve “ALREADY PAID FOR” as a ringtone. (Which is crazy!)

It’s been my hope that Apple has always been big on making sure there customers enjoy their product(s) with continuous improvements. It is my hope that the iPhone will be no different. Hopefully the iPhone that I presently own will improve and I won’t be forced either buy another phone or be out of luck when it comes to new features.
