With all the news of iPhone-inspired mobile phones, I thought I’d put together a list of the five most notable iPhone clones:
- Meizu miniOne
- Teclast T59
- LG Prada KE850
- ASUS Aura
- iSoftPhone
See these iPhone competitors reviewed after the jump:
Meizu miniOne iPhone Lookalike
Meizu’s miniOne, formerly known as the M8, will sport:
- WinCE 6.0
- 3-megapixel camera (compared to iPhone’s 2 megapixels)
- 3.3-inch VGA+ screen (iPhone’s is 3.5 inches)
- GSM support
- TV-out
- Photo/video/MP3 compatibility
The miniOne seems like a suitable iPhone alternative for the Windows-inclined who can live without a rotating display and Visual Voicemail.
It will likely be more affordable than the iPhone, too. And lucky for you the miniOne looks a lot like the iPhone, so you may be able to fool your friends into thinking you own one.
Read more about the Meizu miniOne (and see more photos) in my previous posts:

Teclast T59 iPhone Lookalike
The Teclast T59 is another aesthetically-appealing iPhone clone. Since the T59 is only in its concept stages, a lot could change still, but here are some of the specs for this 3G mobile phone:
- Windows CE
- Built-in GPS
- WiFi
- VGA screen w/ secondary display
- FM radio
- Photo/video/MP3 compatibility
The T59’s got a sleek black finish with a chrome lining like the iPhone’s. Here are two concept photos:
LG Prada KE850 iPhone Lookalike
LG’s Prada KE850, designed in tandem with the fashion designer, was announced last year and will debut in Europe later this month for a whopping 600 Euros (almost $800 USD). It will feature:
- 2-megapixel camera
- microSD card slot (to make up for its skimpy 8 MB of memory)
- Bluetooth 2.0 & USB 2.0
- Preloaded w/ black & white theme (others may be available)
- FM radio
- Photo/video/MP3 compatibility
Sorry LG, but for $800 big ones I’d rather get an iPhone and a half.
ASUS Aura iPhone Lookalike
The ASUS Aura is, to me, the least visually attractive of the iPhone clones, though it’s got the largest touchscreen at 3.9 inches as well as a rotating display like the iPhone’s. Other features include:
- 2 megapixel camera
- Bluetooth
- microSD card slot
- miniUSB
- Photo/video/MP3 compatibility
Two photos:
iSoftPhone iPhone Lookalike
This iPhone lookalike is not a physical mobile phone but a Mac OS X desktop application that functions as a user interface for VoIP phones.
Even the iSoftPhone website is a knockoff of Apple’s. They’re gonna have some real problems getting this past Apple’s legal team. [Update: The website has since been renamed/redesigned.]
*BONUS* CECT P168 iPhone Lookalike
Thanks, Shiv for pointing out a sixth iPhone lookalike, the CECT P168.
The Cect P168 shares in common with iPhone a 3.5-inch display and a 2-megapixel camera. Other features include:
- 2 SIM card slots (you can switch between SIMs without turning off the phone)
- a built-in dictionary
- games
I THINK ITS BAD OF APPLE TO LET OTHER COMPANIES PRODUCE SIMILAR PHONES LIKE IPHONE4 …
Where can you find these phones??? im trying to find the Asus and Teclast T59… please give me a website where we can find these phones.
I have had two of the CECT (i68+ etc) phone, and even if they do look just like the iphone, they are not even close. They are ok if your just gonna talk on it, but if your taking and sending pics and/or text messages, then its terribe. You will go through about 7-8 steps before actually sending your message and the picture quality if just plain awful.
From personal experience, the sciphone is the worst fake iphone clone I’ve ever owned. It looks a lot like the iphone, I’ll give them that. However, not kidding, on the VERY FIRST day I got it, the screen cracked in half and the touchscreen broke. I’m not making this up or anything to be an asshole. I really liked how the phone looked, but the quality is shit. Now I’m out a hundred bucks and I’m trying to sell it on craigslist for almost nothing.
i’ve found a site with a nice colection of iPhone clones:
http://www.sciphonereviews.com/
can’t decide wich to chose 🙁 , maybe waiting for windows mobile 7…
Looks like a cool alternative to the Iphone like the 2 sim card idea
hmm i am thinking of getting the iSoftphone. But is it any good? and how much is it?
I can’t seem to find anysort of review on it or a price from anywhere, also where is it in the counrty? U.K, USA?
hope someone can help please (:
Thanks Bob
I thank, the sciphone is the best iphone clone and have a good price.
I just bought an A380i earlier today. I should have it in 5 to 9 business days. If anybody has questions about it, just email me. Once I get the phone I’ll cover your questions. My email is skatin707@gmail.com
My carrier is AT&T
I almost forgot he broke the charger too any ideas on where I can find a new one….besides China?
please help….I bought my son the Cect I9 for Christmas he has T-mobile service….we like the phone but he cant send text messages, although he can receive them, also he cant even dial 611 from his new phone, T-mobile doesnt know about the phone, it is not in their system, so maybe this is causing problems? He tried to plug in to the PC but it wasnt recognized….I just dont know what to do to get this phone up and operating properly..any help would be great!
Check out the i9 iPhone replica… Its selling on eBay starting from $100+
http://www.squidoo.com/IPhone-Replica
Jolene …. Where did you buy your CECT A380i?
whats about the price of all.
cect p168 camera is really 1.3mp and only has one lame game and no dictionary! i bought expecting and iphone clone, the only thing even similiar to the iphone is the physical look of it, and you cant download games or anything like that onto it!
What about the hi-phone I32?
Hey you forgot to add up the the HiPhone, really close to the iSoftPhone but better
I’ve just got my own iphone loolalike from the same website http://www.iphonelookalike.com now for £150 (got down in price!) What I can say is… it works just like an iphone! It might not be as perfect as an iphone i.e. with wifi, google maps, but overall, it’s a good value for money if you ask me.
To be honest, for me personally, ‘Motorola A1000’ is the father of all of these large screen phones. Motorola A1000 came out like 4 years ago. I think apple might have copied some of its physical features. This is just my personal opinion.
i dont get it.. why the hell do people call all the phones that have big touchscreens iphone clones! now the obvious looking ones sure can be called that.. but the ones like teclast for example.. where did you see ANY similarity..
i mean, just because apple thought to make a phone like that doesnt mean that the other guys didnt think of it, and im sure that phones with big touchscreens like that have been in concept and prototype stages in china and japan probably since like 2000s. apple just made their phone with a nice natural progression of mobile devices.. and suddenly every other model is a ripoff.. everyone gives apple too much credit
I think the biggest thing that all of these are lacking (and which was failed to mention) was that none of these of multi-touch capabilities. So what if it has the looks or even if it is faster. The best thing about the iPhone is that it is the ONLY thing on the market that has multi-touch, and, it actually works well. I’ll take something that works (if slightly slower) than something is faster but doesn’t work well.
woops, i got the address above a bit wrong it’s http://www.iphonelookalike.com :-s
when it comes to iphone look alikes, this company sells 1 that comes the closest in my opnion: http://www.iphonelookalikes.com i got mine for only £159
Sorry, lol. Meant CECT A380i, not CEDT
I just bought a CEDT a380i. I live in Missouri and use Cingular/AT&T. I got the phone, put my sim in and it was up and running. I have mp3s on my CP and just sent them to my phone via the USB cable and violla! I love it and think the user interface is great.
the sixt lookalike CECT P168 is a Clone!
the one that costs 800$ isn’t… :s
lookalikes are not clones…. Clones are suppost to be cheap!!!!
how about the a88 hiphone that is the closest to a iphone
the ASUS Aura has been said to be a fake concept phone.
Help
I am looking to buy the CECT A380i. I live in Texas. Does anyone know if that phone does MMS? And if it will work for me here in the USA. My carrier is AT&T, I called them they said they don’t know anything about this phone, but the voice should work, not sure about the data. Also for anyone who has used this phone, is the mp3 player, that it has, the quality of an actual mp3 player? Also any other useful info on this phone is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Trina
Please help!!!!!!
I am trying to find a charge to go with the CECT P168 iPhone Lookalike. does anyone know where I can find One
Penny
yeah, i agree with Vladimir, it all started with the SE Px00 models. i used to have one of those. and the Nokia N95 is awesome, i have that one here in FL and a CECT A380i. about the iphone clones, i think the CECT A380i is the best. more advance features and shake control system. really eye-catching. the sounds are really loud and clear. both works here in US, just make sure to check the bands in your area before buying, and dont buy dualband phones, triband/quadband is a must if you want it to work in US.
Chris
Thanks, I will do that. Yes, I have found the cect p168 on ebay. Tried to ask the seller of a few different ones some questions. None of their responses really answered what I was asking. Might have been a language barrier. Or else they wanted to let me beleive I could use them here, so that I would buy one from them.
Thanks Again
Trina
Trina, I don’t think these phones are sold in the USA but you might be able to get them on eBay. I don’t know if they’ll work in the US, you might have to check with your carrier.
HI, Are any of these phones from the USA. Do any of them work here? I am especially curious about the cect p168. Thanks Alot!
Ooooh I almost forget…you can put in the competition also Samsung F490 and HTC Touch, which are much much much better than iPhone and they look-a-like it…and also let’s don’t forget Samsung Armani
Hey Chris,
I want to tell you that I just saw one website that has this CECT P168 but I want to take a look for CECT A380i which is better than the P168 and you can put also Desay N8 which is amaizing same like the iPhone and the phones from CECT that I told you about. Thanks!
All of these phones are SE Px00 (P800, P900, P910) series clones. Just remove the keyboard.
Am I right or what?
Wut ever this thing is totally wack!!! Hoo wants 2 buy a fake ifone wen u can get it 4 a beter price!!!! LAME if u ask me!!!
Thanks Shiv & Sebastian! I’ve added the CECT P168 to the list.
I think shiv has a point. the cect p168 is together with the meizu the real clones here, the prada is absolutely not! eventhough you acknowledge that its released before, you do call it a clone. But i like the article anyway, its fun to discuss the various modells that can compete with the iphone.
The other modells you name is unknown to me but I dont know if you should call them clones or simply phones inspired to use this new way of making mobilephones. Jobs said himself that iphone is taking the designing of mobilephones to a new level, and these phones might be good alternatives to take pieces of the market.
Oh ya and its a steal at $160 US (with 256mb micro SD)
Hey guys i think you forgot a really cool phone that you should have added to your review. It’s called the cect p168. Honestly i think its better than the iphone. You can have 2 simcards in it at once, add more memory via micro SD (8gigs for like $60) and aside from all that the wireless actually works properly lol.
Why does all of the nice technology hit Asia and never even come to the USA? LAME.
Also, the Meizu and the Teclast are not likely to be available outside of Asia, ever, which will likely have an effect on US sales.
Which one do you want and how many? As soon as they become available I’ll ship them to you. Getting them chipped for the US market will be your worry.
David, I’m sorry you took offense to the term “iPhone clone.” I don’t dispute that these phones are remarkable, just that they are very similar to the iPhone.
And that’s not supposed to be in any way accusatory. In fact, I mention in this article that LG’s Prada was announced last year (before the iPhone).
“With all the news of iPhone-inspired mobile phones, I thought I’d put together a list of the five most notable iPhone clones:” (quoted from the “review”)
Before you write anything, I believe it would be better if you check validity of your claims. For example, here, it says that the LG Prada phone is an “iPhone clone,” but it is most definitely not. In fact, the iPhone is the LG Prada phone’s clone. The LG Prada was announced on December 12, 2006 while the iPhone was announced on January 9, 2007. Although those two dates are not much apart, there is still a minor difference that distinguishes which is actually the “clone.” Please don’t be biased; the iPhone is not even released yet and it is completely irrational to assert that the LG Prada (and the other phones) is a “clone.” How can a phone that has been released weeks before in multiple continents be a “so-called clone” of a phone that has not been out in one single country? Again, I realize that this site is solely loyal to the iPhone (hence the name appleiphonereview.com), but I do not believe that awards this site the right to be biased against other remarkable devices.
Last, it would be definitely appreciated if you could edit the absurd claim that those 5 outstanding phones are “iPhone clones.” Thank you.
I just bought LG Prada….There are no words to say how beautiful it is? You guy should get it.
This entire (so called)‘review’ is quite simply a farce… to say the least!
Having a similar form factor alone does not justify referring to a device as a clone.
There are only so many ways to design these kinds of devices.
The iPHONE itself doesn’t even exist yet, so please… ENOUGH ALL READY!
The iSoftphone, is not a product, but software that puts a Voip virtual phone on you desktop.
What would be nice ,is if you could put that software on your iPhone to enable Voip on it??
Yeah, the Nokia N95 is nice. I didn’t include it in my list because I think it’s unique enough to not be labeled “iPhone lookalike” (EDIT: also, the display is not “full-size” or touchscreen).
I have six letters an two numbers for you guys Nokia n95!!!
Good to know, thanks Paul.
I think I should point out that the Asus is a concept, not a production phone. Also, the Meizu and the Teclast are not likely to be available outside of Asia, ever, which will likely have an effect on US sales.
Will do. Thanks, Jack!
The prada phone is not a Black & white touchscreen, it has 4 themes and only one is in bl/wh. It also has a radio. Now you can edit. 🙂
